Located in a lane in the old part of Plakiás just a short stroll away from the port with its taverns. The small pebble beach is in a distance of approx. 100 m and the long stretched sandy beach in approx. 350 m. The airport of Heráklion (approx. 114 km) and the airport of Chaniá (ca. 91 km) are an approx. 1 1/2 hours drive.

Ancien village de pêcheur, Plakias est une agréable station balnéaire idéale pour des vacances à la plage. Il y a beaucoup de possibilités pour des excursions au départ de Plakias, e.o vers Preveli, Frangokastello, Spili, Agia Galini et les gorges de Samaria. A 2 km à l'est du village, se trouve la paisible station balnéaire de Damnoni.
