Located in a lane in the old part of Plakiás just a short stroll away from the port with its taverns. The small pebble beach is in a distance of approx. 100 m and the long stretched sandy beach in approx. 350 m. The airport of Heráklion (approx. 114 km) and the airport of Chaniá (ca. 91 km) are an approx. 1 1/2 hours drive.

Plakias is een leuke badplaats, ideaal voor een strandvakantie. Plakias, was vroeger een vissersdorp. Er zijn volop mogelijkheden om vanuit Plakias uitstapjes te maken naar bijvoorbeeld Agia Galini, Spili en de Samarie kloof. Wie van surfen houdt kan hier zeker terecht. Op 2 kilometer afstand, ten oosten van het dorp, bevindt zich het rustige badplaatsje Damnoni.
